Overnight flight, so an easy day with no long transfers — almost everything is within walking distance of the hotel.

Immigration and baggage ~40–60 min · pick up a Cashbee card at the CU/GS25 inside, collect eSIM/WiFi

09:30
Drop bags at Hotel Central Bay 189 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, Suyeong-gu

10:00
First meal: dwaeji gukbap (meat-only) 돼지국밥 — pork bone soup with rice

Busan's true signature dish, and exactly right after an overnight flight · the Busan version is lean pork only, no offal — just a little spring onion in the bowl · ~10,000 ₩

🗣 Order "고기국밥" (gogi gukbap) to guarantee meat only 🚫 Avoid 순대국밥 · 내장국밥 · 섞어국밥 — these contain offal / blood sausage
🥬 The chive salad (부추무침) is a separate side dish — skip it if you like 🧂 새우젓 salted shrimp is the salt; add a little at a time 🍜 Pick: 수변최고돼지국밥 광안점, open 24/7 → see "Restaurants"
Backups if pork doesn't appeal that morning: 전복죽 abalone porridge (no vegetables, no offal, very mild) · 갈비탕 clear beef short-rib soup · 설렁탕 beef bone broth with sliced brisket
11:30

21:00
Gwangan Bridge lights from the room

Early night — tomorrow starts at 08:15

DAY 2 · THU 15 OCT

Gamcheon at opening + old-town markets in the evening

Gamcheon is emptiest first thing; the markets peak in the late afternoon. Relaxed pace, no rush.

Why this order: Gamcheon peaks 10:00–15:00 when tour coaches arrive — the Little Prince photo queue runs 10–30 min and the climb is exposed with no shade. At 09:00 you get empty lanes and soft light, while BIFF Square street food is liveliest 16:00–20:00 anyway.
08:15
Leave the hotel for Gamcheon

Direct taxi ~40 min · ~26,000 ₩ (public transport needs a subway + uphill bus, over 1.5 hours)

🚕 Show the driver: 감천문화마을
09:00
Gamcheon Culture Village 감천문화마을

Pastel houses stacked up the hillside. Buy the 2,000 ₩ stamp map at the info centre and follow the trail · the Little Prince and Desert Fox photo spot has almost no queue at this hour · walk up 감내2로 for the full village view

🕘 Shops/cafés open 09:00 · village free to enter⏱ Allow 2–2.5 hrs👟 Steep, lots of stairs
11:30
Down the hill → Jagalchi Market 자갈치시장

Taxi ~15 min · ~7,000 ₩ · Korea's largest seafood market — ground floor for live tanks, giant octopus, sea eels and the shouting vendors

12:15
Lunch at Jagalchi

Pick fish downstairs and have it prepared upstairs · or try gomjangeo (곰장어, grilled hagfish in spicy sauce), the Jagalchi speciality, and grilled fish

💰 ~50,000–80,000 ₩ for two🕘 Closed 1st & 3rd Sunday — open on 15 Oct
13:45
Gukje Market 국제시장

The post-war market made famous by the film Ode to My Father · clothing, household goods, kitchenware, souvenirs — haggling expected

15:30
Café break / Gwangbok-ro 광복로

Nampo's pedestrian shopping street — Olive Young, Korean brands, cafés · rest your legs before the evening

🌿 If time allows: Lotte Mall Gwangbok rooftop garden, floors 10–11, free, harbour views, 5 min walk

💰 ~12,000 ₩ per person🌅 Go up before 17:15 to catch both
18:30
Street-food dinner at BIFF Square BIFF 광장

Peak hour — lights on, the whole street smells of food. Order one at a time and share:

08:15

10:30
Cheongsapo + Daritdol glass Skywalk 청사포 다릿돌전망대

Practical notes

🗺 Google Maps doesn't work

Korea restricts map data, so walking and transit directions fail — use Naver Map (best English support) alongside KakaoMap. Searching in Korean characters gives far better results.

🚕 Use Kakao T, don't hail

Set the destination in the app so you don't have to explain it. Busan taxis are plentiful and cheap — on this itinerary they're worth the time saved.

💳 Cards work almost everywhere

Except market stalls at Jagalchi and Gukje — 150,000–200,000 ₩ in cash is enough. For foreign cards, look for "Global ATM" signs in convenience stores.

🍺 Korean drinking etiquette

Pour for others, never for yourself · receive a glass with two hands · turn away when drinking with someone older · tipping is not expected.

🏥 Medical

Pharmacies (약국 yakguk) close early and on Sundays; convenience stores stock basic medicines. Nearest major hospitals: Busan Paik Hospital and Haeundae Paik Hospital. Emergency 119; tourist helpline 1330 (English available).

🌊 If it rains

Fallbacks: Shinsegae Centum City + Spa Land, Busan Museum of Art, Lotte Mall Gwangbok rooftop, a film at Busan Cinema Center.

🧳 Souvenirs

Roasted seaweed, instant tteokbokki, Korean instant noodles, skincare and sheet masks (Olive Young runs frequent promotions), Busan chocolates at the airport.

⏰ Time zone

Korea is 2 hours ahead of Thailand. All times on this page are Korea Standard Time.
